7-Day Forecasts:

The interface provides weather forecasts for a period of 7 days. Please note that the accuracy decreases as the forecast extends further into the future, so be sure to check regularly for up-to-date information. The displayed winds correspond to the indicated time or are based on the forecasts.

Weather Updates:

Weather data is updated four times a day, and new data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is incorporated as soon as it becomes available.

Update Schedule:

The update process begins at 09:30 am UTC with the first 12 hours of data. Afterward, approximately every 10 minutes, 24 hours of forecasts are added. The complete forecast for the first week is available by 10:30 am UTC.

At 3:30 pm UTC, the process of updating meteorological data starts, loading the first 12 hours, and then 24 hours of data.

By 17:00 pm UTC, the full forecast is available, potentially impacting the optimal route.

Temporal Interpolation:

Between these key moments, weather data is temporally interpolated, providing a displayed weather that combines new and old data.

Forecast Format: The weather data grid on the wind map can be 1°x1° or 0.25°x0.25° depending on the races. This format can be changed during a race if circumstances require it.
