Where can I check the team ranking?
It can be found in the rankings screen, on the top left of the screen where the VSR Offshore indicator is, on the home screen.
Then just select the “VSR Offshore Team” tab to check the team rankings.
The “VSR Offshore Team” shows the results for teams that have accumulated the most points.
Race results that are considered for the team ranking are based on 100% of the points acquired over the last 12 sliding month period and 50% of the points acquired on the previous 12 sliding month period. (From 24 to 12 month 50%, then 12 to 0 100%)
Race results dating back more than 24 months are not factored for the team ranking.
How does my team figure in the team rankings?
The results taken into account for the ranking will be those of the 10 best players in a team over one race.
At least 10 team members must cross the finish line of a race.
- If the team has more than 10 players, only the results of the best 10 will count towards the team ranking.
- If the team has fewer than 10 members, it will not be displayed in the rankings, and its results will not be taken into account.
Even if the team's composition changes (entrants or exits) during the race, only those in the team at the "halfway point" are eligible to be among the 10 best players counted.
The "halfway point" is the point at which the distance to the finish of the first player is less than half the estimated distance of the race.
Only players who participate in the race's first half are counted in the rankings.
The 10 players who cross the finish line must have been part of the team during the race's first half.
Therefore, if your team only has 9 members during the race's first half and then other players join, it will not be displayed in the team rankings.
How is my Team's position in the VSR Offshore Team rankings calculated?
Your position in the VSR Offshore Team rankings is based on your race results and the number of points you earn.
The races are divided into 4 categories according to their difficulty, length or prestige.
The points earned by a team are the average of the VSR Offshore points of the team's top 10 finishers.
VSR Offshore points are calculated using the following formula:
VSR Points = Max / (Rank^VSR Coefficient)
VSR Out of Category - (Vendée Globe) | 15 000 Points |
VSR 1 | 10 000 Points |
VSR 2 | 5000 Points |
VSR 3 | 3000 Points |
The points earned by the Teams will be added to a race "Quota" in each category.
Only the team's 20 best results in points will be taken into account, broken down by race category as follows:
VSR Out of Category | 1 race taken into account |
VSR 1 | 3 races taken into account |
VSR 2 | 6 races taken into account |
VSR 3 | 10 races taken into account |
NB: The race categories at the bottom right of each race are displayed on the main menu or the upcoming races page.
Once the 'Quota' of races per category has been reached, any new result will be considered ONLY if it is better than the races previously recorded.
NB: It is the number of points scored that is taken into account and not the ranking acquired.
The points taken into account are those for the 20 best race results, with 100% of the points earned taken into account over the last twelve months. In other words, your most recent performances weigh heavily in the balance! The 20 best results over the previous 12 months (24 to 12 months) also have a say, but this time at 50%. Points earned after 24 months will no longer be counted.
Note that in years when there is no VSR Out of Category race, the points allocated to this category will be equal to 0, and only your 19 best results will be counted, but rest assured, your 19 best results will always be taken into account.
This also means that Teams are not starting from scratch, and races completed before this new ranking calculation are taken into account within the 24-month rolling limit.
