When you finish a race, as other participants are still sailing, the game gives you a temporary estimate of the number of points you will earn based on your performance. You can see that number on the arrival screen.
Once the race is closed, we have final data showing everyone's performance, and we know who crossed the line and who didn't. This is when we have a final score board, and your track record reflects the real amount of points you earned.
There is a possibility that you earn a bit more, or a bit less, than what was originally displayed when you crossed the finish line. However, the number of points you can see in your track record is the real one.
