The new VSR Ranking is dynamic and competitive, allowing us to put forth the skills of our best players.
You can contend with the top of the crop and see your ranking evolve with each race you finish.
It is also more coherent with the various difficulty levels and length of each race.
The VSR Ranking is more representative of the performances from all the participants to the races in Virtual Regatta. It is also clearer for more novice navigators, helping them understand their progress and how to influence their evolution on the game;
Your position in the VSR ranking is visible below your player name.
You can click on it at any moment to check out the whole ranking and situate yourself among all the players.
On what is my position in the VSR ranking based?
Your position in the VSR ranking is based on your racing results and the number of points you have won for each.
Races are broken down into four categories according to their difficulty, length, and prestige.
For each race category, we've determined the maximum number of points allocated to the winner of the race.
VSR Out of Category - (Vendée Globe) |
15 000 Points |
VSR 1 | 10 000 Points |
VSR 2 | 5000 Points |
VSR 3 | 3000 Points |
For his pursuers, their position for each race will determine the number of points they win, and this up to the last contestant who passes the race finish line.
The calculation method is the following:
Points VSR = Max / (Rang^Coef VSR)
The points you earn according to this formula feed into a "Quota" of races for each category.
You need to finish 20 races all categories included to figure in the ranking.
Only your topmost 20 results will be taken into account, broken down per category as follows:
VSR Out of Category | 1 Race taken into account |
VSR 1 | 3 Races taken into account |
VSR 2 | 6 Races taken into account |
VSR 3 | 10 Races taken into account |
NB: You will find the race categories at the bottom right of each race displayed on the main menu or on the upcoming races page.
Once you reach your "Quota" of races by category, any new race results will only be taken into account IF they are better than the results of the races previously accounted for.
Race results that count for the VSR ranking are based on your 20 best race results, with 100% of the points acquired over the last 12 sliding month period and 50% of the points acquired on the previous 12 sliding month period considered. (From 24 to 12 month 50%, then 12 to 0 months 100%)
Race results dating back more than 24 months are not factored for the team ranking.
To note, when the Vendée Globe doesn't take place, points for the VSR Out of Category races will be 0 and only your 19 best results will be considered.
This also means you don't start back from scratch if you finished races before the introduction of this new ranking calculation method, they are taken into account. (within the limit of the 24 sliding months)
