Don’t panic!
On Virtual Regatta Offshore, boats never sink.
If your boat has run aground, you can easily get back to sea by following one of the solutions below.
🔧 Option 1 – Refloating Your Boat by Manoeuvring
Turn around to move away from the shore or obstacle.
Perform one or several tacks or gybes to reposition yourself in deeper waters.
Monitor your position on the map until your boat regains normal speed.
💡 Our support team cannot manually refloat a boat.
The manoeuvre must be performed directly in the game by the player.
🚤 Option 2 – Join the “Support Frigate”
If you’ve been stuck for too long or in a hard-to-reach area, you can join the Support Frigate.
This option allows you to instantly rejoin the race, placing you back in the middle of the fleet.
Accessible from the contextual menu of your grounded boat.
You’ll keep your progress and can resume sailing immediately.
Perfect for staying in the race during live events.
⚠️ This option may ask for credits on certain races and may not be active in all editions.
🧭 Avoid Running Aground
To prevent it from happening again, follow these simple best practices:
Always keep a safe distance between your route and the coastline.
Use Waypoints instead of automatic programming when sailing close to land.
-
Enable grounding alerts when equipping your boat before the start.
💡 This feature is also included in the Full Pack.
Learn more in Be alerted when your boat is grounded.
🪲 If You Encounter a Technical Issue
If your boat remains stuck despite manoeuvres or using the frigate, you can report a problem directly from the game.
Our team will review your report to help improve the system.
🧡 Good to Know
Even when grounded, your boat remains in the race.
Once freed — or repositioned via the frigate — it will continue tracking your progress and results normally.
