The course programmer is the instrument that will allow you to determine when your boat will change course, and what course it should take at the time you choose.
It can be combined with the Auto TWA system, which allows you to program both a fixed heading and a fixed wind angle.
To round a mark, a waypoint is safer than the heading programmer, because a waypoint names a place while a programmed change names a moment. The explanation is in Rounding and validating a buoy.
